Last Part

Date: 21st September 2010
Day: Tuesday

We continue our work to build floatilla dome after mid semester break. Before test our floatilla, we complete our dome.

 Tomorrow morning, we will tight the tube tyres at base of floatilla to give our dome float and stable. After that, the floatilla is complete and can test at site that are given. We were very happy because can complete this task.

Part 4

Day : Saturday
Date: 28th August 2010

This day we wait for Samy to come Desasiswa Aman Damai to build our dome. We wait for Samy to come one hour but were very disapointed. So, we decide to start build our floatilla. First, we start to joint the base of our floatilla. We arranged the bamboo and then we repeat measure the length of floatilla. After that, we start joint the bamboo as base for the floatilla using "plastic rope". We joint the bamboo with tightly to make sure the base firmly fixed.

Put the equilibrium base.

We together tight the second layer.

The base of floatilla completed. 
So we try to sit on the base to make sure the strengthen of the base.

We were very happy because can completed the base of the bamboo. 
This is because we build the base our floatilla only two of us alone.
Although, without Samy we as a girl can do without the help of man.

Date: 24 August 2010
Day: Tuesday

We measure the length of bamboo in size. Then, we Start to cut the bamboo in size what we need. So tired at this time... We buy the bamboo from the supplier because we loss energy to cut bamboo from bamboo site.

First, we discuss our group product and name of our group. So, we choose Black Diamond as group name. and Floatilla as our product name. We choose name of floatilla  because our product must be float.  This floatilla is able to float all group members. We also design our product. After that, We make discussion about how to build floatilla. We calculate how many lengths of bamboo we need to build this Floatilla.

Intention: To build Floatilla that able to float all grooup members

Assignment 2 : Geodesic Dome

Today, Mr. Wan give us a new assignment. Mr. Wan asked we need to build a geodesic dome. In build a geodesic dome, there were 6 element that plays its own part. The element are:-

Intention:
To build of a model of a geodesic dome.

Act :
We start to build of a model of a geodesic dome using bamboo satay sticks.
We build the model in 2v.

Actor :
Normah (Me)

Rule :
Cut the bamboo satay sticks at the same lengths.
Make the dome at the right time to finish the dome.

Place :
In my room.

Step how to make a geodesic dome :-
  • First of all, we need to decide what type of dome we want to build.
  • Once we have decided what kind of dome we are going to build, we need to decide on a size. So, we choose to build 2v dome.  
  • Then, we use dome calculator to calculate the radius for dome. There are only two lengths involved for 2v dome build.  The number of 2v dome radius is 12cm. The side A which is 7cm and side B is 6cm.
  •  We need to measure the length of bamboo satay sticks and then point it.

  •  After that, cut the bamboo satay sticks into 6cm and 7 cm.

  • Next, joining 10 sticks (6 cm long) using a masking tape.

put the sticks end to end.
Then, bend the 6cm sticks with masking tape.
  • Then, bend the sticks until it shapes a decagon, after all the 10 sticks are joined.

  • After that, joint 2 sticks together  (6 cm with 6 cm long and 7 cm with 7 cm long). Each 6cm and 7cm can make 5 joints.
 Joints 2 stick together.


















    • All of sticks are joint alternately 6cm and 7 cm.

    • Make another decagon with joint the 6cm until 10 sticks. The decagon is then stick on to the edges of the triangles.

      • Then, make a triple sticks joint. Stick it on the middle edges of the triangles with the 6 cm long stick and the left and the right side of triangle with 7cm. At the middle of pentagon should make a star shape.

      • Finally, after a star shape are put and bend to the top a dome so, my Geodesic Dome are completed.

      Assignment 1: Virtual Construction.

      Our first assignment for intro to Build Environment and Human Settlements. My lecturers request to every student use the picture of the environment before we enter USM. In virtual construction, there were 6 element that plays its own part.
      The element are:-
      1. Intention
      2. Actor
      3. Act
      4. Rule
      5. Place
      6. Product

      Here, my intention. I decide to use my previous school "Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Parit Bunga" as my environment. I almost spent 2 years in this school. I'm study for lower six and upper six in this school. The intention of I'm study in this school because to gain knowledge and get an experience for our future live.

      Then, here my actors. In this elements, I and 3 my friends in this picture as an actors.

      The above element is act. This picture belong we go to the Port Dickson beach. We should be ready to take the picture. We should be make the free style. So, we can see assorted style from this picture as an act. Beside that, this picture also can give me a lot of memory.

      In this picture, the element are place and rule. Before 1 montn the real STPM examination we and my economic teachers go to the Ilham Resort (place). We go there for attend an economics course. We should be strive for an excellent in economic subject and get a good reslt in STPM. So, in everything we do must be punctual and cannot be late (rule). We must be study smart but cannot study hard. We must heard my teacher teach and take a note.

      Lastly, the element are product. Before the STPM examination are started we struggle in every subject with intention to get a good result. We also as target student is known "aku jaya student" in this school. Every "aku jaya student" have a mentor to guide her. After the result STPM announcement, we get a good result and among the best students in this school. We get appreciation from school group. We really proud with my successfull and my dream come true. So, my purpose to continue study in university.
